LED bulbs are better

They appeared before equivalent LED bulbs were available. I have since replaced the LEDs and find them much better. It no longer makes sense to buy a halogen lamp.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Not the best

Halogen bulbs burn best

I thought Philips bulbs would last longer but no. They are mounted in pendant lights above the kitchen table. You are behind the dimmer. Crack from thermal cycles. This seems to be a common theme for this lamp design.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Frequency

Dirty packaging

They are advertised as new. "Package damaged but not opened" would be a more accurate description. I have no idea what kind of pollution: oil? feces? It shows signs of a dumpster dive offer or a retailer who has refused delivery - BEWARE

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Modern

Very important! for bulbs

I didn't realize there were FOUR in the pack so I ordered a whole bunch. Now I have a stash for the rest of my life. The price is great for FOUR bulbs and I use them all the time---excellent quality, durability and famous brand. Let there be light!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • No Power

Ideal for halogen lamps

I just fitted it to my desk lamp. Reading reviews of many lamps in this range (50W, 12V), I was concerned about the gap between the contacts. This lightbulb is perfect. The distance between the centers of the contacts is 6mm as far as I could measure.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Fits

Arrived on time, good for bulbs

Replaces the original bulb that came with the bulb. There was a problem with a flashing lightbulb, I replaced it and everything is fine with this replacement. I don't know how long they will last as this is the first time I have had to change bulbs of this size in this lamp. If they last as long as the ones supplied with the lamp they can last for years, it's hard to say at this time how long a replacement will last. Happy with the purchase.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Write later

Can be used for more than just landscape and accent lighting

I have poor eyesight due to diabetes and other complications and use this lamp in a lighted magnifying glass. The color and brightness of this bulb allows me to see the markings on the diabetes syringe clearly so I can get the right dose of insulin. I can't comment on the durability of this bulb as I haven't used it. this is very long.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use

Scrap is good for bulbs

I've been using Phillips halogen spotlights in my landscape lighting for years with no problems. I bought 4 packs of 50w 10/20 bulbs. The first bulb lasted about 2 weeks before it burned out. I swapped it out and the second one lasted about the same time. As for the third bulb, put it in on Thanksgiving and just realized it had just blown too. That's 3 out of 4 lightbulbs blown in 3 1/2 months. I called Phillips and was absolutely dissatisfied as they said the bulbs were out of warranty. Will…
