Brightness - Halogen Bulbs

I replaced a couple of built in kitchen lights with LEDs and noticed a big difference in brightness. So instead of running all over town looking for halogen lights, I went to Revain and voila, a few days later.

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price

Great apart from initial flickering when switched on

Bought to replace our bathroom lamp. It works great apart from an initial strobe/flicker noticeable for about 5 seconds after turning on. Then it goes away.

Pros
  • Consistent results when tested
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Bulb won't light on halogen bulbs

I've ordered these before and they were fine and one of the two I ordered this time works and the other doesn't. I haven't tried it in months when the old bulb burned out so the return period has already expired. It would be nice to taste them when they arrive.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Zero

3 months. - Bulbs

Lasted three months. I used it as a headlight for my bearded dragon and woke up this morning to find it had burned out. Three months. What happened to the quality of this company? I am very angry at how short the lifespan of this bulb was. Now I have to struggle to find a more reliable lightbulb so my beard can't go without a headlight for more than a few days.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Reliability

You can get the same product at Home Depot.

Same item available at Home Depot but I didn't have to go there as I've been so busy lately. Halogens still produce better quality light than LEDs and CFLs, the color temperature is slightly higher, closer to 3000K giving you a cleaner look than the yellowish 2700K standard and of course nothing beats the color rendering index of halogens. LEDs and CFLs 80+, often 85 CRI, but halogens of course 100 CRI. That is, if it's as important to you as it is to me. There are no LEDs yet. I give him 5…

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

After installing some Halo (Home Depot) recessed lighting in my kitchen and living room I found that standard PAR30s bulbs are VERY difficult to remove once burned out. The bulb body fits very tightly to the inner frame, making it almost impossible to get a good grip to unscrew it. PAR30L is an extended version of the same lamp. The lamp's neck is about 10-15mm longer allowing them to sit a bit lower in the fixture (less aperture and better illumination!) and making them much easier to remove…

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Some difficulties

We were looking for recessed lighting for our newly built media room. They are dimmable which is what we needed. We tried five different types before settling on this one. The tone of the light was perfect. It was neutral - not too yellow, not too blue. Unlike most of the floods we've announced, this is more of a spotlight. They are perfect, glowing around the perimeter and highlighting the rough plaster and reclaimed wood walls of the barn. The rest were headlights, so the light was much…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged

These bulbs are the best. They look great in my recessed lights.

These lamps are the best. They look great in my recessed boxes above my counter. They see very well, they don't have a very bright glare light so they are perfect for our family where bright light tends to get annoying as we get older. I prefer a flat surface to a rounded one because it overhangs the container and gives off too much bright light. These bulbs simply define an area. We are very happy with this purchase and will buy them again. They were well packaged and delivered quickly as…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

They last about a year

When we installed the first one we really liked it. We liked it so much we ended up taking 6. Now, after 8-12 months of regular home use, they've all failed. At this price, the bulbs should last significantly longer. We're replacing them with LED emitters, which last 25,000 hours per bulb (vs. the 1,100 hours these bulbs are advertised for) for roughly the same price per bulb. We will stay away from Philips EcoVantage lamps. This was our first review: we got it to replace a burned out kitchen…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
