Economical - Bulbs

So far these bulbs are working great. The packaging was strong so all four arrived safely and on time. I ordered these because we have been using CFL bulbs for several years and have seen a dramatic reduction in our electric bills (only halved in the first year!). Corridors, bathrooms and dressing rooms.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Very expensive

soft white? These pears are YELLOW!

I was so excited to find these bulbs at Revain and excited for them to arrive to replace 2 bulbs that had failed in my living room ceiling light. My excitement quickly turned to irritation when, after screwing in the bulbs and flipping the switch, I saw two YELLOW bulbs next to the other two white ones! Now not only do I get annoyed with the color of the bulbs, I'm pissed that these damn things last so long before I have to replace them!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • old

These are YELLOW bulbs

I already have a couple of Philips bulbs that will last me many years and the illumination is decently bright but not too strong. And I was hoping to get the same bulbs when I bought them, but they are advertised as "soft white" bulbs when they definitely emit yellow light. Somewhere in the description it is also described as "imitation of the sun or sunrise in space and warm brightness" - well if you ask me this is not a soft white light. This is misleading and contradictory, I will…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Weight

Very similar to a standard 60W incandescent lamp

At the time of writing this review, the product name was partially incorrect. These are not equivalent 75W bulbs; They have 60W, which corresponds to the official product photos. In fact, I received exactly what is shown in the product photo. Not sure why some reviewers say they are very light and blue. This product may have been confused with another product. However, what I got is a soft (/warm) white, and it's about as bright as you'd expect from a 60W. The light in particular is yellowish…

  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Quick start guide

Save 70% on energy bills

These bulbs are great. They are not as fragile as the first compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) I bought, some of which broke in transit. They replace incandescent lamps and save 70% electricity. This bulb replaces my reading light so my whole room is lit with 13 watts. However, be careful when choosing "soft white". If you buy regular CFL while fluorescing you will have an environment that is too harsh (white, blue) for normal home life. My previous CFL lasted 8 years; That meant they…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Bright but not obtrusive.

My main goal was to find lights that didn't give the room an uncomfortable yellow tinge, but weren't so bright white that it hurts the eyes. I prefer dark settings, but of course at some point in my life I need LOTS of light. I used them once to light a camera which, if you don't know, requires VERY bright lighting. But again, they don't get in the way with a standard ceiling fan. In my 24x12 studio, only one gives off that yellow cast, but four make it nice and white without squinting when I…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

: It took me a while to figure out what was going on because it's been so many years since CFLs solved the non-instantaneous problem. And they turn on instantly, but with less power, then build up from 30 seconds to a minute. And it's not about the fixture or the lamp: I've tried them in several fixtures where I've used CFLs for years without a problem. was looking for something that could replace the very short FEIT bulbs I was using. I have a couple of lights where I need a really short 60w…

Pros
  • Easy adjustment
Cons
  • There are more interesting options. UPDATE
