LAMP FACE PRINT

I am giving this product one star because there is a print on the face of the bulb which is visible when I use it in recessed lighting in my kitchen and office. Photos and description of the product say nothing about it. I saw a photo of a customer who had a broken lightbulb with no face print. Bad assumption on my part that I will get the same bulb. Philips makes a good product and I will use it at work and in laundries where pressure is not important to me. The price is very reasonable.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Almost does not last as long as previous purchases

The box that I received in November 2017 took a year. The box I ordered in October 2018 lasted 7 months. Still not bad so I ordered a box in May and am almost out of onions. I changed three in my house only to have the same three items that need to be changed within a month. At first I thought I just had a blown bulb but now that others have had the same fate I think it's a bad batch. I think it's better to use dollar tree bulbs. They also last a month or two, but they're $1 per bulb, not $2.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There are nuances

Ridiculously bad life with those lightbulbs.

Around the same time last year we bought the exact same pack of 12 BR30 bulbs for a pair of downlights in our basement hallway. Previous bulbs probably worked pretty much continuously for 3 years before finally blowing out, so we fully expected this box to last us the rest of our natural lives. Coincidentally, these bulbs each lasted less than a month before blowing out. After using the last one a few months ago we replaced it with some LED bulbs and haven't had any more problems. My advice isโ€ฆ

Recessed spotlight

Bulb. How do I know? I have about 18 recessed lights between the kitchen and living room. So I replaced half the bulbs with these bulbs and the other half with another brand with the same wattage, voltage etc. I won't name any other brand other than it's a very popular name. So I found the other brand naturally lasted longer, but not by much. In my test, another brand lasted about 2 weeks longer than Phillips, but cost almost 60% more. So I came to the conclusion that these Phillips bulbs wereโ€ฆ

Good value but you get what you pay for

We've lived in our home for 20 years and over half the lightbulbs in our ceilings are still working. A few years after we moved in, I replaced all of our light bulbs with halogen bulbs. It made such a big difference, the quality of the light was completely different. When I bought them I was looking for BR30 halogen bulbs and they fitted. When they arrived I replaced a burned out bulb in our ceiling and there was a noticeable difference in light quality compared to a new bulb, halogen bulbsโ€ฆ
