That's good because you don't have to run power cords near the pool. Sounds great too. My son just took it to the beach, perfect for the great outdoors.

AAA batteries were not used as described. This speaker uses AA batteries (same as my old one) but seems to work fine. Definitely a good deal at $14. Would definitely buy again.

Worked great at first. Then there was nothing but noise. Tried new batteries and now not even static. There is no sound at all. Now I'm 2 weeks past the return deadline and I'm screwed. Lasted a little over a month.

You can't beat this speaker for the price. I use it with my droid phone for music when I go camping. I've just ordered another one at a promotional price and will be using a Y adapter to connect them together for even better sound. Seems like it will play forever on 4 AA batteries. This is a quality product from Philips and features a cable management system and a simple on/off switch. Phillips 4W portable speaker was a winner for me. It's pleasantly small, but produces a reasonably clear sound. Its shelf is designed for iPods, MP3 players etc. and reproduces stereo sound.
