For 5ft and a light background, that's probably enough. If you stretch it to 10ft with a heavier background, it will sag noticeably in the middle. You need to put the weights on your feet as these stands are very easy to knock over.

This stand was perfect for my backdrop. It is very light and easy to assemble! I was able to set it up and take it down in less than 5 minutes. I recommend this to any photographer looking for a backdrop stand. It even came with a carrying case!

I bought this for my makeshift studio and it's absolute rubbish. The handles on one won't tighten so I have to turn the bar upside down to make it stand like the other and the screws on the top are half broken. It's all unstable and weak and I regret not returning it when it arrived because I needed it urgently for a shoot and now it's too late. Don't waste your money.

This crap fell apart during assembly, an important part and this is clearly a factory defect. The two screws at the top where the top bar goes fell out. It's like they're attached to the metal with cheap Elmers glue or something. The curtains we put on split just a few grams at the top of the pole. It was for a bachelorette party and my whole bachelorette party turned into a disaster.

Poor quality. Very, very thin and made of thin sheet metal. DO NOT use it outdoors. It is best used indoors on a flat level surface free from wind, breeze and foot traffic as it will wobble. (I use this to hang a very light action camera over a table to take photos lying on a tabletop as I need a straight angle for the camera. I put my feet against the wall for support.)
