Powerful and reliable

I bought this last year and was in desperate need of a replacement when my assistant dropped it on the floor while on the monopod. Phottix was very happy with their replacement and I was so pleased with the unit that I purchased another. I've had both for about six months now and they work great. High performance, accurate TTL, and excellent off-camera flexibility.

Replacement for OEM Nikon

When trying to replace my 3 SB 800's I bought a PLUS version of this flash memory which turned out to be a disaster. The built-in radio trigger is weak, draining the battery and slowing down the charging time terribly. But I liked the regular flash, not the built-in radios. I tried one of these on my D3s and took a few pictures of it. The color temperature is slightly cooler than the SB 800 and this flash is slightly larger, on par with the SB 900. I miss the lack of a 5th battery bay and theโ€ฆ

That's great! If you've used SB-910s

I recently started my own photography business and used two LumoPro LP-180s for portraits and rented SB-910s for weddings and events until finally affording a new flash could. After reading a lot and seeing David Hobby's recommendation, I bought Phottix Mitros. What can I say about him that others have not said? That's great! If you've used SB-910, 900 or 800 flashes, you'll love this flash! I filmed 2 events with him and there wasn't a single problem. Only problem is I want 2 more now! Theyโ€ฆ

I will buy more! for Flash

This is the most impressive fake photo gear I have ever seen. I have or had SB-900, SB-800, SB-600 and also some LumoPro 160 (used mostly as slaves). None of them impressed me like this Phottix. Charging at full power is fast (less than 2 seconds - note: I usually use the Sanyo Eneloop AA). The range of functions is impressive and compared to Nikon's flagship SB-910 more than cheap. This is great because while I like my SB-900s (the 910s are the same except they changed the flash's overheatingโ€ฆ

Great alternative

I wrote this in response to a very stupid review and thought with a few edits it would make a good honest flash review. As soon as the Nikon Flash version became available in the US, I bought one. $300 is still a lot for me, but in terms of performance, it's better than Nikon's current line of products. I liked the build quality and the menu system. It was the only flash I used that didn't wobble when I connected it to my receiver's hot shoe. With a power of 1/16. I took over 200 shots fromโ€ฆ
