This bag is large and looks like good leather. There is no cardboard in the strap, which I really like. Feels like hard leather. The phone pocket is the size of a credit card. So if you still don't have a clamshell with you, you can just use it for your Starbucks card. Good size inside pocket.

Big size, not too big but big enough for comb, phone, wallet, credit cards etc. I use the small pocket where I suppose your phone will go go for my lipstick. I just put my phone in the main compartment of my purse. Some people comment that the small phone case is in the wrong place or the phone doesn't fit inside. It was an awkward spot for a phone but a great spot for lipstick or lip balm.

I don't know about women's handbags/handbags but my wife needed them as they were worn out. I risked it as one of her Christmas presents. I thought I would return it after Christmas as it was a little smaller than what she had but she loves it. She likes a bag that you can sling over your shoulder and under your arm. Like the other reviewer, I unstitched a useless and bulky phone case (which is why it only gets 4 stars). The quality of the leather is good - a bit stiff but should soften over time. I wanted a leather case for my most important things that would last forever. This is perfect for counting. You can adjust the strap to make it shorter but I have it on the last bar, it sits snug on my shoulder and fits my body well. I love that it zips up and is small enough to easily toss in my gym bag.
