Description of Pink Floyd Records Pink Floyd. Dark Side Of The Moon - Discovery Edition

Dark Side Of The MoonFormat: 1 CD (Remastered 2011). Recorded between June 1972 and January 1973 at Abbey Road Studios in London, Pink Floyd''s legendary eighth studio album revolutionized progressive rock and still impresses with its highest quality. This is an epoch-making conceptual work, conceived as a story about the negative impact on a person of various difficult circumstances of his life; about paranoia, about the inevitable and approaching old age, about the senseless waste of life, about death and religion, about fame, money and madness. The concept is based on the assertion that modern life is the path to madness, so each person must wage a severe struggle to maintain sanity. This message turned out to be so consonant with the thoughts and mood of millions of people that the album continues to be actively bought even a quarter of a century after its appearance. Using brand new 16-track recording equipment at the Beatles'' famed Abbey Road Studios and input from recording engineer Alan Parsons, the album set new standards for flawless sound reproduction. The album was recorded using the latest advances in recording technology at the time, including multi-tracking, an analog synthesizer, and various effects with magnetic recordings. It was also immediately mixed in a quadraphonic version. Until now, "Dark Side Of The Moon" is one of the most famous examples of 4-channel mixing. "Dark Side Of The Moon" is Pink Floyd''s most successful and best-selling album (in the US alone, the album has 15 platinum awards). To date, the total number of sales has exceeded 40 million copies. The album spent 741 weeks on the Billboard Top 200, including 591 weeks in a row from 1973 to 1988, hitting number one several times. The album won a Grammy Award for Best Album Recording Technique. : 14 remastered studio albums .Pink Floyd is one of the most successful bands in rock music with 74.5 million albums sold in the US (seventh place), while around 300 million have been sold worldwide (excluding solo work). All 14 original studio albums have been carefully remastered by James Guthrie (co-producer of The Wall). The design of the reissues, including the graphics for the covers, booklets and boxes, has traditionally been handled by Storm Thorgerson. All booklets include lyrics.

I did not immediately notice that this is a remastering - what can I say if you heard the original, it's better not to spoil the impression. With its pros: Came quickly, everything is ok, the quality of the recording is good. With its cons: The cardboard envelope is not very convenient, the disc is difficult to remove.
