Magnetic Album Fails to Impress

This album did not meet my expectations for an arts and crafts product. The magnetic closure was weak and pages kept falling out, resulting in damaged photos. The leatherette cover felt cheap, but the album was priced as if it were of better quality. The spine was also rigid, making it difficult to add or remove pages. The only positive aspect was the design of the page inserts. Overall, I would not recommend this album for serious scrapbooking enthusiasts.

Pros
  • Good page insert design
Cons
  • Weak magnetic closure, cheap material, difficult to add/remove pages.

Nice album but DO NOT buy overpriced refills.

The album itself costs about $20. Refills cost the same per side but don't give you covers. So if you have more pages, just get another album instead of a refill as there is no incentive. Also, the album is made out of cardboard, so as others have pointed out, using refills can result in overloading the design to the point of failure when the frames make contact with the cardboard. The large format album is definitely a plus.

Pros
  • Originally contains 20 pages (10 sheets) plus screw binding, expandable for unlimited refills (JMV style number)
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Well it's a joke!

A few years ago I bought two of these albums along with a set of spares. This spring, while I was home, I spent a lot of time filling in albums and filling in pages. Then I go to the album to add dressings and only one of the four screws actually comes loose so I can add the dressings. One screw came out easily as expected, but the other three just go round and round. Now I have gas station pages with my photos and no way to put them in albums. What a disappointment after the time spent on this

Pros
  • The 12" x 16.25" extra large pages hold photos in all popular sizes including 2.5" x 3.5" wallet photos, 4" x 6" photos, 5" x 7" photos " photos, 6" x 8" photos, 8" x 10" photos and other enlarged images.
Cons
  • Big and chunky
