Pit Posse PP3288 Podium Digital Air Pressure Gauge Pro Racing Billet: Heavy Duty Performance with 3-100 PSI Range, 0.1 PSI Accuracy, LED Display, and Carrying Case Review

Having purchased other Pit Posse products in the past I thought this gauge was of the highest quality. While it looks great, the cartridge is too small to easily hold onto the valve stem. The hose fitting on the handle was leaking and when tightened the o-ring pushed out causing more leakage. Finally, when the cartridge is removed from the valve stem, the pressure gauge returns to zero. There is no "Hold" function.

Very well built sensor. It appears to offer excellent accuracy and makes setting tire pressures relatively easy with a pressure release button, a turning chuck, and a quick re-read of the tire pressure after adjustment. However, I was surprised to find that the sensor was powered on when I unpacked the factory-sealed case, but luckily they also included a spare battery pack with the sensor, so they may be aware of the issue.

The Pit Boss digital gauge is very well built and I have tested its accuracy with a professional lab quality gauge connected to a two position manifold so that both gauges can be done at the same time Connect to the tire at the same time, and at 30psi the pit boss was done. When tested at 35psi it showed 35.1psi and at 40psi the Pit Boss showed exactly 40psi. I can't imagine anyone needing more precision.

This tire gauge is easy to use and provides consistent results. The rotating head eliminates the problem of hose twisting, and the small head size makes it easy to switch from motorcycle dual disc brakes to an air valve. The backlit digital display is easy to read in any ambient light. The battery level is fully visible as a clear bar graph on the front of the instrument each time the instrument is used. It's hard to find anything negative about this sensor. And the price was reasonable…

Very good gauge! The only complaint is that he can be a bit temperamental when it comes to finding the best place for the valve seal, especially on those hard-to-reach motorcycle valves. *UPDATE* After years of use on various cars, bikes, bikes etc. I noticed that the reading on the sensor no longer matched my other AutoX sensors/gauges or the car's TPMS. Excellent value for money overall. Pressure readings are within a tenth of my expensive analog gauges. The storage case is good if we put everything in one big box. The display is easy to read. The only weak points are the chuck/head and hose. The included chucks don't work as easily as the "bullet" style angle swivel chuck on my Longacre and Intercomp gauges. I have a lot of Motion Pro tools and I was very seduced by their digital display. I recently switched to a Tubliss system on my dirt bike and the inner liners inflate to 100psi and then the tire can be inflated to a very low pressure of 3-12psi. I know one analog meter can't handle that range, and I already have 2-3 other meters in the 40-80 range, so I had a choice of getting two analog meters, one for high and one for low, or to go on. Overall: This is an excellent product. Works as described. Displayed in 0.1psi increments and works well with my bike (2014 BMW R1200GS with wire wheels). Solid, well made, easy to read, easy to use.
