I often spill a lot of food meant for my mouth. Since I eat most of the TV tray, the tray became unsightly and, well, sticky. I took these mats not knowing if they would work or not. In fact, I was lucky. These mats hold foods that haven't gone all the way from fork to mouth and are easy to carry to the sink and rinse. And these rugs are attractive. The colors are wonderful. All turquoise, greenish-blue. They seem to mix and change depending on the lighting. I have them on a large table on the pool deck. The colors even harmonize with the pool :) And the sky! :) They stay in place even on a windy day and a simple jet of water will remove any stains or blemishes. Some people have complained that they are not heat resistant. Of course not. They are not advertised as such. These are decorative vinyl napkins. I bought it in blue and am very happy with it. I love that there are multiple shades of blue and depending on the lighting they appear different from different angles.
