Yellowed cover instead of transparent.

Box of not very good quality. Just came in a padded envelope and looked like a junk item. There were minor scratches and yellowing on the cover. Wouldn't buy this item again.

Pros
  • Electrical
Cons
  • Not fashionable

Nice case for a DIY project

I used this to build a custom watering controller. The plastic is easily drilled through. I simply installed a DC/DC converter, a 4 relay module and an ESP8266 with plenty of room for wiring.

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Stick

I had to use it for my needs

Must be used for a temperature reader. I didn't find a box with a transparent lid on Amazon but with a cable hole. This was a waterproof cabinet and I ended up drilling a hole in the back and adding a coupler which kept the waterproofing intact but then allowed me to add whatever wires and thermocouples I wanted. It wasn't as easy as I thought drilling it out, use a slow speed, if you use higher RPM you'll just melt the plastic instead of biting through it.

  • Electrical Boxes, Wiring & Fittings

Waterproof but rusty screws?

The box is quite well designed with a rubber gasket that makes it waterproof. I like the transparent one too because I'm using it for a solar cell project. My only complaint is that the screws are not stainless steel. They rusted after a rain. I'll have to change them to stainless steel.

Pros
  • Electro boxes
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Had to use Macgyver for my needs

Need this for a temp reader. I didn't find a box with a transparent lid on Amazon but with a cable hole. It was a watertight cabinet and I ended up drilling a hole in the back and adding a sleeve which retained the watertightness but then allowed me to add whatever wires and thermocouples I wanted. It wasn't as easy as I thought drilling it out, use a slow speed, if you use higher RPM you'll just melt the plastic instead of biting through it.
