Platinum 202016J EZ RJ45 Connector 50 Pieces Review

It's great. The boot is good but stiff because of the hard plastic. Being able to use the connector to push the wire through the end and cut it off is ideal. The only complaint is about the boots. I'd like soft ones that can flex a bit, but that's okay.

I ordered these things thinking "Perfect! I have a lot of Cat6 to finish! The day came, the Amazon bag at the door, I eagerly opened it to find it. Nothing. No note, no card. Nothing. I contacted support and received no response. Unfortunately I will not buy it again

Non original Platinum Tools connectors. Don't fit or end right. I've been using Platinum Tools HD Pro and connectors for years and they work flawlessly. They don't work and don't exit correctly. Went back to my old batch of connectors and they worked great with the same certified Cat6 cable.

They are not designed to be plug and play. You can only do this a few times and then the thin plastic ball will wear out from the clip. The clip is still in place but there is no rib to keep it inserted. You can insert the plug, but it just slips out because there is no longer a rib on the clip.

Don't be fooled by the photo - this is NOT what you get (see photo). I made some jumper cables when I ran out and chose these. They're fine, but they don't prevent the wires from occasionally slipping from one strip to the other while I'm trying to align them. I'm NOT an expert, but I've made enough patch cords to know what's good and what's not. Another issue is that some of my switches won't allow the plug to be fully inserted. I am completely satisfied with how the cables look with these EZ connectors. I bought a "combo kit" that has latches for each connector. I have used Platinum EZ crimping tools and Cat5 EZ connectors for many years. I bought a Cat6 cable so I ordered these Cat6 ends. The internal channels that run the individual wires through the front of the cable start deeper in the connector compared to the Cat5 version, so getting the wires out in the right order was sometimes difficult and time consuming…

With the right crimping tools I can make the right ones Forge connections in a fraction of the time it takes to use load bars with other connections, not to mention the frustration of traditional connectors. I have made many patch cords in my time. Platinum Tools EZ-RJ45 is by far the best RJ45 cable platform. Your product MUST be the standard. Be sure to purchase a Platinum Tools EJ-RJ45 crimping tool as it will cut any wires that come through the face of the connector. Well worth it even though it costs over $50. The main benefit of passing through the face of the RJ45 connector is that the cable jacket fits snugly into the connector, unlike standard cables where the cable jacket and twisted pair
