Description of Ultimate Leak-Proof Platinum Silicone Sealing Lid Inserts/Liners for Mason Jars - 10 Pack (Wide Mouth)

FITS WIDE MOUTH LIDS: 10 Reusable Platinum Silicone Discs Make *Wide Mouth* (3" internal diameter and 3.3mm thickness) Ball plastic storage caps, Mason Jar Lifestyle stainless steel storage lids, and some other lids both leak proof and food safe! Not for canning. THE SAFEST OPTION: BPA and Plastic Free. Made of platinum cured silicone rubber, these seals are dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe. Silicone is a safe, green, material for food contact, that does not leach chemicals. Platinum cured silicone is more expensive and higher purity than peroxide cured silicone. VERSATILE: Leak Proof, Airtight, Durable, & Better Design Than Competing Products! Perfect for fridge and freezer storage, pantry storage, transporting food or beverage without leaking, and much more! Prevent food contact with plastic or tin, line a straw hole lid for transport, replace your rusted metal flat lids, or line any type of cutout lid for candles or food. Now with a small tab to make them easier to remove. MULTI PURPOSE: Work perfectly with metal bands, Ball plastic storage lids, or Mason Jar Lifestyle stainless steel storage lids. Because silicone is a flexible material, they fit some other lids too (but not perfectly). If they seem a little too big for your lid, you can trim them with a scissors. COLORADO BASED COMPANY WITH TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICE: Buy with confidence from this family run, Colorado based business which offers exceptional customer service from our U.S. based Mason jar experts! We strive to delight you!

Sticks best in container sets when wet

I use Mason jars for my husband's protein shake and have had a problem with leaking plastic lids. The silicone sealing lids solved the leak problem, but my husband didn't like that the silicone disc fell out of the lid when opening the jar. A little water between the disc and the inside of the plastic cover solved this problem.

Exactly as described!

They are perfect for my glasses! I originally bought them for fermentation; Poke a small hole at the top to allow air to escape. However, they are so good that it looked like a waist. I use them often, they are always easy to clean and the seal is perfect. If I need more I will order them again without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Couldn't have expected better.

The silicone material was thicker and stronger than I expected given reviews of such flimsy products. These sealing disks fit perfectly on my polypropylene reusable, autoclavable wide-mouth lids and provide a perfect seal. The only difficulty I had was removing them, but I found a way to do it. I expect these durable seals to last quite a while with repeated use. Good product!

I love these silicone ear tips!

I store many products in large cans. I make my version of the Starbucks Frapacino and make it in bulk so we can fill our travel mugs. I use wide-mouth half-gallon jars and bought tight plastic lids. They leak and don't seal tightly, which is why I bought these silicone ear tips. They fit perfectly, are easy to wash (because of the small tongue), thick and durable. They prevent my jars from leaking and seal everything I want to store! I love her! I have ordered several sets. I highly recommend…

Does its job great maybe a little pricey

it may be a little pricey for what they are but they do exactly what i need so i give 5 stars! I make salads in jars for a week and then just toss them in my bag (they take up less space than bowl-shaped containers and they're glass but not as heavy as my Pyrex containers). I reused the metal rings and seals that came with the jars but they got too rusty to continue so I replaced them with plastic lids and these seals. Just a note, the tab in the seal faces the lid and fits into the little…

Where were you?

Two piece metal lids are very difficult to put on and take off when storing food in jars. These liners allowed me to reuse the metal portion of the rim, essentially making the duo a one-piece, durable and leak-proof cap. The silicone part does not fall out when opening the jar, but can be removed for washing. A bonus for me is that I make large batches of chicken broth that I freeze in jars. I actually had jars in the freezer when the liquid expanded, but with these lids that's no longer a…

Great goals for fermentation!

Simply poke a hole through each of these silicone lid inserts about half an inch from center, screw them to the top of your jars with metal ties, and you've got great airlocks for all your lactic fermentation pickles! They work the same way as Masontops Pickle Pipes, but better and cheaper. Place the hole about half an inch off center, not exactly in the center where the dimpled and thinner silicone is. The orifice acts as a safety valve and only lets air through if the pressure difference…
