The clear lens fell off after 16 months

Worked pretty well when it was in the kit. The clear lens cap fell off after 16 months. I wish the OEM product lasted longer. I'll try to see a cheaper version to see if it's better.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Terrible design, best in parts

Using a foam float that quickly saturates with gas and doesn't work is a ridiculous design. I had to use a sealed plastic float. I just bought this OEM replacement because everything I could find fits. Works only slightly better than the one I replaced. I will not spend my money again.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • some problems

Cheap metal oxidizes immediately!

This gas tank has been on our pontoon for less than 3 months. Today we removed the cap because the needle wasn't moving. It was thick from oxidation of the metal coating on the rails that the float slides on. Because of this, the swimmer could not move. We had to clean it with sandpaper before replacing it. It's cheap metal. We will buy a new one somewhere else. We don't need that shit to get in our engine, and neither do you!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Something different

Perfect for parts

Came quickly. Easy to open packaging. When replacing the original, I noticed that it screws in and out even easier than the original. The length of the construction usually requires 2 or more tries for the threads to snag. These issues seem much simpler. The float moves easily and accurately, showing the fuel level quickly. When you're in the middle of nowhere and the only gas you have is in the tank, you want to trust what the gauge says! Inexpensive and works better than the part that came…

  • Cool product
