Description of USG#1 Potters Plaster: High Strength 20 - Scenery, Dioramas, Dentistry, Mold Casting, Model Railroads & Gaming - 10 Pounds

High Strength 20 Plaster for Scenery Dioramas and Casting. Quick setting, lightweight white plaster in water resistant bag. Ideal for patterns, figurines, commercial casts, and sculpture. Can be used for making outer or mother molds, and it is not recommended for outdoor use. Full strength limestone high density plaster, not cut with cheap plaster fillers. Designed for strength and casting detail. High Strength 20 is 20% to 30% harder than Plaster of Paris and works much better in mixing, pouring, and setting. Accepts liquid or crystal pigment colors and stains.

Very easy to use

I like it for my bas reliefs. It hardens quickly and dries well. I seal it and then I can color it with watercolors or acrylics or not. I also make jewelry with it, which is very versatile and affordable.

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • Slightly torn

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Follow them, not the internet.

I wasted that whole $45 bag on 25 pounds. You can bet I did some careful calculations afterwards! I did wet boxing. Stupid me, I didn't know how to use the cast properly - it's not the cast's fault which is why it still gets 5 stars - and the customer service was GREAT! So when we dumped all the plaster into our water, which was "measured" at 1 1/2 inches in the wet chamber, we ran to the store to get more plaster because it was far from up a hill form. All of this disappeared into the water…

Pros
  • power
Cons
  • loose change
