I ordered this because it was suggested by Amazon if you buy the heater I got from Amazon. After two electricians claimed that this cable was not compatible with this heater and it was too late to send it back. Can't say the cable isn't great, but don't listen to Amazon's calls to upsell additional purchases.

I bought a 9ft PowTech appliance cable because appliance cables have a "flat" plug that is easy to use behind furniture. The cable is thinner than expected, which isn't a problem since it's used for computers, printers, and other peripherals. It works well. Maybe I was expecting a thicker cord like the one he replaced. It was gnawed at by rodents and discarded—too late to check if it was heavier than a 14-gauge.

This is a very high quality extension cord for household appliances. It took me another 9 feet for my 13 amp heater to reach the outlet and this 15 amp cord seemed to fill the bill. I had an old 13 amp cord that got hot all the time; this one didn't. The construction is solid and has excellent insulation. My only concern is that it's not 9 feet long, it's about 6 inches shorter (including the ends). I understand that thick cables can't "relax" to their full length, but a usable length is about…
