Presto 85772 Turbo Review

My autoclave is a few years old but it works perfectly! However, the manometer readings were filled with condensate, and its readings were difficult to read. It was easy to install and now my autoclave is like new!

Of course this is an excellent pressure gauge. The only problem is that if you over-tighten the gauge on the pressure cap, the little quarter-inch gasket at the bottom will break. And as far as I understand, this is not for sale. So I had to buy a new sensor.

I bought 5 of these sensors because my sister needs them in her company. I get 5: 4 good, 1 bad. I think 20% bad articles is a very bad number. Being located outside of the US, I lost 20% of my money when I received a bad item as there is no point in paying for a returned item outside of the US. I expected this product to pass quality control, but it's clear that this production step doesn't count.

Replacement sensor received normally. The problem is there was no nut in the kit to attach it to the lid. No problem, right? Just use an old nut, right? old nut 3/8" 16, (16 threads per inch) new gauge threads are metric! I don't have a set of metric stainless steel nuts to choose from in my garage do I? Okay, the vapor gauge works great. My only criticism is that I didn't need another gauge, I just needed another compression ring, that little white rubber washer. Gaskets aren't expensive, but nobody sells just gaskets. Stupid little things are easily lost. I still don't know where my second one went. In the worst case, he fell into the garbage chute and disappeared forever. Now I have two pressure gauges and a white gasket. Plain presto, only sell pads out of pity.

There are other non-OEM sellers but I paid a little more for a quality OEM part from Presto. We're talking pressure cookers here, right? So you don't want to risk your health and safety with an unknown manufacturer you are not sure about! The only thing that bothered me was that this device is made in China - I feel like an American manufacturer really should make their products. in America, not in some offshore country.

When my first Revain pressure gauge arrived I thought it was the correct model, identical to my previous pressure gauge, but the stem of the dial did not fit the nut that came with my old pressure cooker. The first dial indicator did not have a metal nut! I called Presto. They said my tin can model, which is embossed/engraved on the side of the pot under the side handle, requires a different caliber. Revain back to the rescue! I ordered a new sensor number, arranged a return, took it to UPS…

This item corresponds exactly to the manufacturer's description. This is the perfect replacement for those of us who don't read the instructions and use a wrench to tighten first when it comes time to hand tighten! I'm not sure if the actual stem that goes into the autoclave is plastic or a very soft metal, but it will snap if you overtighten it.
