Beautiful colors, small pots

The colors in the set are just gorgeous. No separation, nice reporting. I have only one problem and it's not enough to deduct a star. The pans in this set are slightly smaller than the standard half pan.

Nice variation of blue (and some green)

Must be one of my favorite candy sets! I love the underwater world, so this watercolor set sings to me every time I open it. I love every color there is. Shipping and handling went well! Edit - when I tried them on Trekell cold press and brush sheets they are BEAUTIFUL. Blues pigment is just perfect!

Bright and beautiful colors BUT hard to understand

The blues and greens are just beautiful and perfect for seascapes. However, I tried them on 300gsm/140lb 100% cotton cold pressed watercolor paper and they did NOT come up. Mind you the paint was still wet and I tried to remove some of the paint with a tissue. He didn't move. So keep that in mind when looking for a set of inks that will peel off paper. That issue aside, this pan is worth the money.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • So so

Not for beginners I guess because they are more expensive but I would buy them if I was new to art as I've always wanted to learn from the best. If you find something you like early on, don't waste money on inferior materials. They are VERY pigmented. I love it. Beautiful rich color in a handy jar to take with you. Has built-in containers for mixing paint. Also comes with a sample card for quick reference. I can't say enough good things about Prima products!

The best brand available for all levels!

This is the best brand of inexpensive watercolor bowls, ideal for all levels. They have a lovely range of colors and I haven't gotten a single color that isn't bright or decadent! This color set is my absolute favorite as blue is my favorite color and they go really well with the picture. Most of them are very opaque on the first stroke and create quite nice gradients. They are definitely not of the same quality as the Windsor and Newton, but I think they are more than adequate for professional

  • Art, Painting and Craft Supplies
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sets

*MORE* than worth the price!

I have no idea if Prima's watercolor products are for professionals or students, but I think they're one of my two or three favorite brands! I have Daniel Smith, Winsor & Newton, Holbein, handmade craft paints I bought on Etsy, I have tube and pan paints, liquid paint concentrates, watercolor pencils and markers - my main obsessions are watercolors and paper. The colors of the Prima brand are my favorites because their colors inspire me to create in a way that I usually find difficult. The…
