Description of Hurricane Board Up Zinc Plated: Prime Line 5100 - Ultimate Protection for Storm-Prone Areas

Do-It-Yourself Hurricane Board-Up Clips provide a simple, quick and inexpensive way to protect windows during high hurricane winds. Designed for use over windows on brick, wood and stucco surroundings that project outwards at 90-degree right angles, adjacent to recessed windows. Clips fit 1/2 in. thick plywood and are re-usable. For wind speeds up to 150 mph, depending on overall window size opening. See instructions for easy installation, removal and clip spacing based on window size and wind speed. Zinc-plated steel construction. Measure width and height of opening, subtract 1/4 in. from those measurements, this leaves 1/8 in. on all sides.

Solid and Reliable Board-Up Brackets

These brackets are built to last. They're heavy-duty and sturdy, providing a reliable solution for protecting windows during storms. Made with high-quality materials, they're zinc-plated for extra durability. One minor downside is that they're on the pricey side, but given their strength and usefulness, they're worth the investment. Overall, a great choice for those in need of Industrial and Scientific-grade board-up brackets.

Pros
  • Provides strong protection against hurricane winds and debris.
Cons
  • Requires professional installation and cannot be easily removed, limiting access to windows and doors in emergency situations.

Not Miami Dade spec

I installed them in a glass block window and the wind mitigation inspector ordered me to install threaded anchors and corrugated aluminum panels in place of the wind insurance discount. One note, my front door opens inwards and rain sometimes runs down the door through the seal in the foyer. I made a sheet of plywood and these clips to cover the front door from the outside.

Pros
  • Galvanized Steel Structure
Cons
  • I'll write later

Better "HAVE THAN WANT "!

I have bought these elsewhere and they are VERY EASY to use. You know I'm in Florida which is usually where hurricanes hit and I have pre-cut wood for my windows and if any problems arise all it takes is to simply attach it to the wood sides, glue them in place and hoping I don't have a tornado - THEY don't bother protecting anything anywhere! I'm glad I bought them BEFORE having any problems - so should you. The packaging fits in your hand, so it's not a "big deal" like other products that are

Pros
  • For wind speeds up to 150 mph depending on overall window size

  • Not sure
