🔧 ProCare Quick Fit Universal Support - Model 79-87480 Review

I broke my navicular bone a few years ago and this time of year I have severe arthritis in my hand. I was looking for a brace that would support my lower wrist and thumb where the pain is most severe and this is it for me. I wish I had found this waaaaay sooner.

I purchased this product to replace a brace that was issued by my doctor for a suspected scaphoid fracture. It appears identical in every way, including the packaging. The edging in the thumb area is abrasive. I had to cover with moleskin so there was no irritation. But other than that, this model is very comfortable, easy to use and much better than the other one I tried.

My surgeon told me I need this brace during my visit. The office price was astronomical compared to what I found at Revain. I ordered the braces and received them in 3 days instead of the promised 2 days. When I received my package, the bubble envelope was cut about 5 inches wide, just wide enough for the box to fit through. I'm recovering from thumb ligament surgery but I can't wear a cast so my thumb shouldn't move. I have tried about 10 different braces at Revain but this one beats them all. The thumb fixation is very good compared to others I've tried. The metal bar on the side of this brace has "knots" that prevent the thumb from moving (see photo). The two straps hold your thumb well on this brace. My only complaint is that the liner traps moisture, which makes my cuts worse, so I rotate two of these braces…

The only negative thing I would say about this brace is that I don't have a great range of motion , but it's kind of part of the braces. It's amazing. I've been looking everywhere for this bracket. It is identical to the one prescribed by the orthopedist. Extremely supportive and a lot bigger than I can find anywhere else so it fits snugly but not too tight. I lost it while driving and was very disappointed because it is the best protection against bone damage that I have on my right wrist. One

Pros: The metal bar in the hoop really helps limit range of motion. The thumb is insulated so if you have thumb problems this splint can help depending on how much you want it. (Read the cons on that.) Velcro straps allow you to adjust the tension. Cons: It's quite bulky, reaching halfway down my forearm.
