This is a really basic 4 cup coffee maker so no frills. It has a short cord, so if it's on a desk, there should be an outlet nearby. Just place it next to a power outlet on your kitchen worktop. Regular 4 cup (3 inch) disposable basket filters are used. The carafe has markings according to the desired number of cups.
