This razor was sharpened on one side of the razor and the other side was dull. I have tried again and again with wet stones and a hundred times in vain. The company's quality control is poor, they should not rush orders if the razors are not up to standard and not shave ready. The funny thing is I have the same straight razor in tortoise shell and it was sharp, just needed a little touch up and it was ready to go. Razors are non-returnable, so be very careful when ordering.

This is a good razor. He got in shape and after a good haircut I had a good shave but it could have been sharper. I sharpened it and now it's very sharp and I shave very cleanly. I like the scale and how it feels in my hand.

The overall construction is excellent and makes for a very comfortable shave, especially when in good working condition with a good sling. I'm finally enjoying a quality shave again instead of the safety razor I used to use. Great price for a very good razor

I bought this razor and although it's not ready to shave I was able to sharpen it on an 8K grit stone and hold it for 50 rounds and it gave a pretty good shave. This is 440C stainless steel so sharpening is different than carbon steel. It's also very wide (7/8 inch) and heavy. So if you're used to a thin, light 5/8 razor, remember it's a lot bigger. I recommend it, especially if you're just starting to shave with a razor.

Origin rating update: The seller contacted me and exchanged the razor. I also bought a 10000 grit stone and a sanding belt. I hope he will be happy now. Don't buy this. While it appears to be made from decent quality materials, it doesn't shave like it comes across. Significant sharpening is required before starting work. This is my first straight blade razor. I bought this razor for a low price to see if I can make it. It's not bad at all. So if you're just starting out in shaving with a straight edge. I recommend this shaver.
