While it appears to be made from decent quality materials, it doesn't shave like it comes across. Significant sharpening is required before starting work. This requires a whetstone and razor belt, and a significant investment of time to get everything up and running. If you think you want it cheaper as a beginner, make a decision as to whether a straight razor is right for you. simply not. Get a quality razor and accessories on day one so you don't get frustrated. It is absolutely impossible to even start shaving before something has been sharpened. I had to switch to my regular razor to finish. I will prescribe this razor for throat cutting and buy a good razor.
