Somewhat complicated installation

Had to put a bypass switch on the cover. It's a bit difficult to find a good seat due to the size, but I like it more than wired ones

Pros

Cons
  • Useless Features

PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA - WRONG!

We made a conscious decision to buy this unit because it prides itself on being made in the USA, videos showing how easy it is to install and the easy to read remote Display lets you see what's going on. This is a real bait and switch. Arrived assembled in Mexico, remote display not included.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Good but not great

Basic equipment

I could hardly fit this powerful surge protector into the original converter box. To do this I had to cut out our part of the bottom. I thought I ordered the remote control version but apparently I didn't. Ambiguous product labeling. So, without the remote, I drilled a few holes in the converter cover to see the LED messages. Now the new converter charger and other devices are protected from bad power supply.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Reliability

Will not work with most portable generators.

This device will not work with most portable generators (those with "floating bottom"). Also, this unit does not have a bypass switch that would allow it to be used with portable generators. (In technical support I was advised to watch YouTube videos on how to repair the "floating earth"), there is nothing in the instructions about this. Found this out while wandering miles from a hardware store and at night. The company should warn its customers about this issue in the manual.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Updates

Will not work with most portable generators.

This device will not work with most portable generators (those with "floating bottoms"). Use with portable generators. Although there is a relatively simple solution to this problem (technical support directed me to watch a YouTube video about "Floating Ground" fixes), the user manual doesn't say anything about this problem. B. in the hardware store and at night, the company should warn its customers about this problem in the manual.

Cons

Good gear, just needs a little know-how.

I installed it myself without any problems. It's not rocket science, but you have to be careful. The clues and markings on the inside of the case are enough to get everything in place, but they're not "for dummies". If you understand what this device does and how electricity works in your RV, there will be no problems. If you are new to connecting 120V AC appliances, consider having someone more experienced install it. I don't think this is mentioned anywhere in the description, but you can…

  • I say nothing

Camper: Palomino Yearling Y-4125 2008 MY INDUSTRIES EMSLCHW30 Surge Protector - The data display is a card that is in the box, not a separate one. This is not an outdoor unit that you just plug in and connect to the campsite shore power pole. There are a few things about this model that I liked more than other models: 1) Installed internally - cannot be accidentally left behind, cannot be easily stolen from shore power lines. 2) The display is in the box - no need to install data cables or…

Pros
  • Part number: EMS-LCHW30

  • Newer model could have been chosen
