Very happy with this functional shelf. I already had a tripod so I saved some money. The transition screw works. I added a large washer between the tray of my detachable tripod mount to fill the small gap. Admittedly, my rig is a little more wobbly than I would have liked, but that's due to the tripod, which was only meant for holding the camera. I can definitely recommend the spiral.

Very good product. The foam prevents my device from moving and keeps it stable. My only complaint is that the product is misleading because it shows images of a tripod. Even though the description says the tripod is not included and it says so in the picture, I'm a visual buyer so my brain sees the tripod and assumes it comes as a pair. Just a suggestion. Maybe remove the tripod or make it gray to make it clearer. Maybe put a green circle around the tray. Otherwise great product!

I think it is a good item that will serve its purpose well. I see some complaints that it's just cheap metal, it's a shelf, you attach it to a tripod and you can put things on it. It's not 3 inches thick and doesn't weigh 40 pounds, of course it's flimsy metal, but just make sure your tripod can handle the weight and you'll be fine. I'd be more worried about the tripod than that this shelf won't support the weight. Most tripods are only rated for a few pounds if you don't have a good one. So…

Aside from the tablet being a little warped, it does what it's supposed to and looks solid enough to use with my fancy laptop. However, the stability is terrible as it only attaches to a tripod mount. The mount acts as a fulcrum for the weight of the entire tray and laptop, and tightening my tripod screw only stabilizes it. It would be better if the mounting nut was flush with the bottom of the tray but still as strong as a single screw can make it. That being said, I'm using it on a flat…
