8ft ceiling requires a much shorter lower stem. I just cut the included rod in half and drilled holes like the original and mounted it sideways perfectly on an 8ft ceiling, has great airflow, a quiet motor and was perfectly balanced right out of the box. 4 stars ONLY because it doesn't include a bottom shaft that fits an 8ft ceiling mount.

This fan is perfect for my garage. It moves a lot of air at high speeds, even on 12-foot ceilings. The blades are made of plastic, which may seem unaesthetic for some in the home, but they're great for more industrial settings. The three blades have a long pitch, so they're a bit noisy, which is to be expected given the amount of air they're moving. Installation was very easy and straightforward. The best part is that I got it in an open box for only $50.

If you like to sit and watch a ceiling fan go around and not move air, this fan is not for you. If you're looking for a fan that pushes the air around like a wind tunnel, look no further than this bad boy!
