I'm a cinematographer and I specifically use this paper tape to create patterns on a blank frame and then use 2k light or higher to show through and create shadows The background of my picture. The tape doesn't smoke from the heat of the lighting equipment, which is great!

I bought this for use in the Photographic Industry thinking I would save some money compared to twice the price of the 3M brand. This tape is not transparent. The light from the flashlight just shines through. I went back to an old roll of 3M stuff and it's really opaque so you get what you pay for. Note. When this tape is folded in half, it is as opaque as is required for working with photographs. This will NOT block all light from direct sunlight. So be careful when trying to close a window…
