I ordered two of these different colors, one came and fit as expected, the other was too small

I ordered two pairs of these in size XL, one gray and one brown. The gray pair fits perfectly and the brown pair fits like a medium pair. Both tags say XL so I'm not sure if it was a manufacturing defect or something else. Very annoying dealing with returns and wanted them ASAP as I'm going on holiday but at least one pair fits well.
