🔊 Powerful Pyramid 680GX Three-Way Speakers with 500 Watts - P.P. Cone – 6.5'' Review

I bought these along with the amp to upgrade my standard stereo in my new car. I installed the amp and tested it to make sure it worked and sounded good, then installed the speakers and was happy to turn it on. They sounded faint and blurry. Then, before removing them, I decided to try a different amp. This time the speakers bang. I was amazed at the sound quality of these inexpensive speakers. Damn good.

Although I could have spent more I decided it was worth the risk to experiment with and I'm glad I did. My car is 10 years old and no speaker can get rid of the road noise and rattle that comes with driving something with miles on it. If I were building a show car that would never leave my garage, I might go with something more music-oriented. These pyramids sound amazing compared to factory blown paper bag junk and that's all that matters.

These speakers sound great. Mazda Miata with Sony DSXS100 receiver and JVC KS-AX3002 power amplifier. They handle really high volumes without any hum or weird distortion. This is NOT a direct replacement for factory speakers, I had to drill new mounting holes. ATTENTION, don't worry about the pattern on the box, it's wrong (too small). I gave 3 stars because there is no installation information and the template on the box is too small. not the same size as the speakers.

These speakers are more than worth their price. I bought these to replace the factory rear window mounts on my 2000 Nissan Sentra. The originals were Panasonics with a very limited frequency range. One had a broken cone. Studies have shown they fit and shipped for less than $28. Although the Pyramid doesn't have the reputation of JBL or even Kenwood, it wasn't just the price that convinced me to buy it.
