🍲 Set of 2 Pyrex Clear 7-Cup Round Storage Dishes with Red Plastic Covers Review

omg. I am seventy one years old and have been using Pyrex for many years. I've never had seven cup mugs before, but I decided to give it a try. I put the chicken on a plate and it exploded/splintered into a million pieces like in the photo. I haven't touched it, dropped it, or done anything other than put it in the food. I would not recommend it. I googled and found other people saying why Pyrex breaks so easily now. New manufacturer?

I just got them in the mail and they weren't in Pyrex packaging. Taking a closer look at the jars, neither the lids nor the jars themselves determine the overall capacity of the jar (which is the case for all Pyrex jars). Although they bear the Pyrex logo, they don't quite match other Pyrex containers I've bought recently. I just noticed in the About This Product section of this page that they are made in China (although the containers themselves say they are made in the USA).

We ordered a pair of pyrex 7 cup storage cups to replace the old ones that had cracks. They arrived very well packaged (individual thick bubble wrap wrapped in a tightly sealed plastic bag, in a box with additional packaging) so I was optimistic. When I ran my finger along the rim looking for chips, one bowl was fine. The other had two tiny chips that I would not have noticed visually. (See photos.) Available in different sizes, these glass food storage plates are a must in every kitchen. I use them to store leftovers in the fridge, store literally everything from nuts to bolts, and freeze leftovers for months. Only two elderly people live in this house. I like to make things like turkey chili, lasagna, meatloaf, and pot roast in sufficient quantities so I can freeze extras for future meals.
