Not sure what you can see from the photos but the inside of these shorts is like a swim trunk. The bikini insert is a bit tight and the shorts fit perfectly. I'm 5ft 6in, 140lbs and usually wear a size 8 bottoms. I ordered Wednesday. I think a big one would be too big. The material is good and they are a good length (I'm in my 40's).
