FM is dead. . . in Portable Audio & Video

The radio does not receive FM channels. The FM group is dead. AM works as expected for noisy amplitude modulation (AM). When tuned to a strong AM channel, the radio and sound are quite good. But that doesn't make up for the lack of FM at all. Shortwave (SW) is fun to play but not very useful. Tends to drift.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

I must have gotten a good one. It receives Radio Havana Cuba in .

I must have gotten a good one. In the backyard he receives Radio Havana Cuba. Knobs and switches are a little clunky, but remember, you're dealing with inexpensive equipment. The sound quality is very good with a strong signal on all bands. Tuning is what you would expect from a mechanical analog tuner.

PRETTY GOOD - Portable Audio Video

Really nice little radio for a low price and pretty good reception in my area! Now I'm giving it four stars as the plastic case is a bit flimsy for my liking but other than that the radio itself works pretty well and as always Revain has it reasonably priced so I can say it's a good deal for say for a hunting lodge or hut, but don't be rude as it is not a tourist property. OK, so buy now and enjoy!,.IndianaED

save your money for shortwave radios

About what you would expect. Terrible product from a terrible seller. The radio lasted about 3 hours of listening time and then received nothing on either band. I made a "return request" through Revain but no one but Revain contacted me and said the seller closed the return request. Finally bought something similar for my needs off eBay and survived the junk ten times over.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Communication with seller

This is AM/FM/shortwave radio! The cable is in the battery compartment.

We got ours through warehouse deals and for the price we paid it was really good quality and when we realized it was a radio we bought a few more due to the cheap warehouse deal as gifts. The speaker itself is quite large and produces a lot of volume. AM/FM and shortwave radio reception was adequate but not great, and controls weren't very precise. It comes with a cable that sits in the battery compartment, giving you two power options. Revain did not do a very good job with the photos or the…

nice gesture. Now for the bad

First, what's in it. Includes 120V power cord. The portable power supply requires 3D batteries. There is also a DC 4.5V jack on the back, but the power adapter is not included. There's a headphone jack on the back, which is nice to the touch. Now for the bad. Shortwave frequencies don't pick up anything. Reception is almost non-existent for FM and AM. The numbers on the dial are far away, so you can only guess what frequency you're on. The volume is either off or 1000 dB. If you want an FM…

Volume control shorted excellent reception

can't complain about AM and FM reception great shortwave no shortwave two you can catch a glimpse but the range is so short it's difficult to retune to stations. On shortwave, and it almost looks like I might be picking up FM stations seeping in. The main problem with mine is that the volume button is kind of shorted out, is static and the volume goes on and off when I adjust it. Aside from being $15 it's a great AM/FM radio and various power adapters are great, but I can go to a thrift store…
