Engineers wanted! in Marble Runs

My teenage daughter and I have a lot of fun building different towers. A great way to connect and use your brain and technical skills.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • -

Mediocre quality but still great fun for kids

Fit, finish and build quality was so-so. The escalator, which should be the main feature of the toy, does not fit well and is a little weak, so it is not easy for children to rotate without scattering the balls. However, the concept is good and will keep younger kids entertained for a long time.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Not as strong as when I was a kid

The kids in my world like to play with it, but it's not as strong as the one I had as a kid. The pieces fall apart too easily when you try to build so I think if kids were building this they would get frustrated very quickly. At the moment I built it and the kids played with it. In addition, small connecting parts are inconvenient. I would prefer that I have a one piece piece that has its own connectivity.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Frequency

Falling apart, tipping over and just generally frustrating

I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 because my son loves it. However, it's terribly done. Parts don't fit well together, get stuck and keep tipping over/breaking. The tower supporting the chain/hoist does not connect well and its parts fall apart when force is applied (e.g. when a crank is turned). The pipes also don't fit into the base of this part, so you can't build from them. Other moving parts are also constantly jamming. You have to hold it together with three hands for it to work and not…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Some little things

Good concept but cheap material and limited design options

This is a decent marble walkway with lots of nice touches to make installation a pleasure. But the quality of the materials is rather poor, and the "marbles" are just super cheap plastic. What was particularly disappointing, however, was that there was only one design. You would think that with all these parts, the manufacturer would give instructions for assembling several different settings, but that is not the case. So this is just one. And after the kids have played with it for a while, it…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Fits
