Good electrical retrofit kit

Replaced old gimbal bulbs with these LEDs. Easy to install without removing the old can body. I only gave it 4 stars because I'm a little disappointed that they only dim to around 30-40% of max brightness and I wanted a slightly more subtle wall blur effect on my fireplace at night.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Appearance

My electrician approved

I bought two different styles and brands and this is the one the electrician was supposed to install. We used it in front of the fireplace so we could focus the light on the painting. We had an old eye lantern that was really cleaned up and made more modern. It even took him 10 minutes to install it!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Looks way better! - Trim

I've been looking for Revain for a long time and decided on this one. They're a bit more expensive than some of the others, but I liked the look of the adjustable part better. They look great and were insanely easy to install. I entered 10 in an hour. They are very close to the ceiling; I installed some retro LEDs and they don't quite match, but these do.

Pros
  • Special
Cons
  • Minor issues

Will not fit in a flat hole under the LED. Short term return policy

I was hoping to replace the bracket in the high sloping ceiling above the fireplace but there is a beam in the middle and the back of that bracket was compared to what is now fits there, too deep . The return policy fell short, when we got to this step in our chimney breast the return window was closed and I was stuck with 2 bulbs which I can't use unless I cut 2 new holes on each side when the beam and add some wiring that costs more $$ than I wanted to invest.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Great Lights

The lights look fantastic and are easy to install. The only downside was that they didn't come with the case required for installation, so it took us an extra trip to Home Depot to get them. I think at this price point it would be better to only include the backlit ones. After installation we are very satisfied with the result, the light color is pleasant and warm. Works perfectly with Lutron Smart Dimmers.

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Thin
