Broke after a few uses

My 4 month old kitten played with this scratching post less than 10 times before it snapped. Everything was put together correctly and she's a little kitten so it was unexpected. You can see in the photos I uploaded that the bottom is completely cracked. I am disappointed that I wasted my money on something of such poor quality.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Boards divided by scratching post

It was very easy to assemble, it took about 2 minutes so I gave 2 stars. However, the main base is split in half and you need to put a screw and washer on it. One side of the screw area cracked within minutes as it already had a center crack. That made it less safe. I will not buy again.

  • Free for educational purposes

Good scratching post for cats.

Good quality and high window viewing height (we have windows about a foot and a half off the ground). My only complaint is that one of the bells has been crushed and doesn't work (on a small ball/toy hanging from a scraper) but other than that it's good quality and both our machines really enjoy using it for scratching, playing. put on and on.

Get what you pay for I think.

My 6 month old kitten tore this up. He can be a bit violent. but one morning I woke up to find the middle cord had unwound completely all over the bottom and he was chewing through the whole box until it was unattached to the bottom. I have had cats all 33 years of my life and have never seen one destroyed within 3 months. I will not buy another.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Fragile

Cat test failed.

Pros: The scratching post is beautiful, good quality, easy to assemble and perfect for small spaces. The transaction and delivery time from the seller was excellent. Cons: My kitty isn't impressed! I already have 5 days. Aside from sniffing at it and hitting the balls once or twice, she never used it for its intended purpose as a scratching post. She still prefers to scratch upholstered furniture.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Upgrades

My girl's favorite piece so far!

It was very easy to put together, it probably took me the full three minutes and only took that long because I was struggling with my girls to really let me build and them not on flat parts to let go. 😂 The little balls have bells on them and the felt/fur/material (whatever it is) is sooooo soft, they love it! I want to say plywood for felt so it's pretty strong. I didn't notice anything, and the cord didn't come loose either.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Small scratching post

Sturdy for its size, assembles in a minute or less, lined with soft, silky plush. It might not be the best option for an adult cat but it's perfect for my kitty who uses it with ease. Keep in mind that on a human it will be around mid-calf, so this is kitten size. My 2 year old Siamese tabby mix is stunned by this, uses him as a stepping stone to the windowsill and opts for his cardboard scratching post instead. Maybe one day he'll find out, but I suspect he needs a taller bar with a larger…

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

You should remember this article!

My kitty loved this item and used it all day, but one day I heard a very strange scream-like sound and couldn't figure out where it was coming from or if it was on the TV. I looked down and it was my own 4 month old kitten crying/screaming. One of her front paws dangled from one of the strings with a small bell and pompom at the end. The rope was wrapped so tightly around her paw that she couldn't untie it. I figured I would have to take a pair of scissors and try to cut the rope very carefully

A toy ball lasted a minute -

The device looks as expected, it is very easy to assemble. Hope our cat is happy about it. BUT - when I first unpacked the pieces, the first thing I pulled out was the top with 2 toy balls attached. My cat was with me, she was curious to see what was in the box. She immediately started playing with one of the balls. Great I thought. That's a good sign. - I got the rest of the parts out of the box, which didn't take a minute - I'm looking at where our cat played with the ball - and it's broken…
