I didn't have a cone with a remote control!? The light has good battery life; I can tell you that for two AA batteries. So it's cute, but too bright and therefore not as comforting as we'd like. But most importantly, the power button is on the back so you have to remove it from the wall to turn it off and then you can't see it to hang it back up and you don't want to make any noise . and wake up the baby. So not a good light children's room. However, the lack of a timer and on/off button on the back makes it a poor design for any age I think.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this if they're hanging it on the wall. I have another kids lettered wall night light, a star, and the switch is accessible from the side without removing the wall hanger to turn it on or off. Also, there's no remote control to change the backlight color. Instead, the lights simply change from one color to another. My child has trouble falling asleep.
