    Bright and works in an old fashioned library prep light

    I bought this lamp for an old fashioned library/reading light that uses a long lamp shaped like a hot dog. It helped as it's nice and bright. I like that it's shorter than the classic long reading lamp, so it tends to find other uses around the home.

    It's been great so far!

    The bulbs are bright, look good in the room and match the fixture very well (small diffuser shade that doesn't fit in a standard bulb). The color is really very white with some blue undertones (no natural or vintage light) but the blue isn't overwhelming, just whiter than we wanted for the room. I actually bought the exact same bulbs in "Nature" and they are perfect. The lamps look good enough that I decided to keep the white lamps for other uses like photography and video.     Lots of defective and short-lived bulbs

    Pros: Slim, compact, cool and bright. Cons: High marriage level. Low CRI (Color Rendering Index): Colors are even, objects in the room appear lifeless. I bought two packs of 4 (8 bulbs total) of these RAYHOO 4000K corn bulbs. 2 lamps flickered and did not light up. 4 other lamps had a loose base and screwing/unscrewing the lamp from the socket caused the lamp to go out momentarily or the socket to remain in the socket. A total of 6 defective bulbs from a set of 8. I requested a replacement for…
