Reflector cones do a good job of increasing the amount of light in a room. I replaced my black dividers and satin nickel trim with these and the room brightened up. The 4 inch cans look great (it doesn't look like UFOs are going to land in your room), but the light spread is significantly less than the 5 or 6 inch cans, so adding reflective cones to that helps to increase the brightness in the room. .
