Closes the exit and is not removed by curious children; my 1 year old gives up quickly and moves on and my 3 year old doesn't even care now. Obviously the outlet doesn't even look closed at first glance, which I really like. The plastic is of excellent quality, flexes without binding, strong enough to be used over and over again. I find this product about 75% useless. My 12 month old can pull them out in less than 4 seconds as you can see from the attached video. I still give outlet covers a 25% benefit because they keep kids from plugging things into outlets. So these covers slow down the baby and give the parents a few extra seconds to react. Maybe it's because I live in an old house and have these kinds of exits? I'm not sure, but I'll look for a different outlet cover anyway!

Concerned about how easy it would be for my child to remove it based on some other reviews. I watched him attack the socket for 2 minutes and he didn't even come close to pulling it out of the socket. My second issue was the quality of the plugs, if they were cheap the pins could easily break off in my socket when removed. These sockets are great if you want to block sockets temporarily but still use them occasionally. They are easy to remove. You don't need long nails and unlike other cases, it doesn't hurt your fingers. I use covers to keep bugs off the walls. I used to see an insect (usually a centipede) twice a week. I have used these covers in most of my outlets for a month and have only dealt with two insects in that time. They do not intend to use covered outlets.

They worked great when first installed but my 18 month old was able to get them after a few days of fiddling. Now I occasionally step on it in the middle of the night. At first he used a toy to pull them out when I wasn't looking. he was 15 months old then. Now he can pull them out with his fingers. I was glad they were advertised as 'super clear' because I have 2 black outlets on my kitchen island, which I have to close and the white ones look tasteless. But when I installed them I was disappointed, they still appear to be white. Better than opaque, but definitely still very noticeable.
