They worked great when first installed but my 18 month old was able to get them after a few days of fiddling. Now I occasionally step on it in the middle of the night. At first he used a toy to pull them out when I wasn't looking. he was 15 months old then. Now he can pull them out with his fingers. Note that he can't pull them all out, but he can reach about 10 of them. I would say this is a good product for toddlers who can crawl but once they start to become more mobile and try to figure things out these cork pads offer little to no resistance. I would have bought them anyway because they worked at a time when he didn't listen to me, because he was young and lacked the ability to concentrate.
