Wanted to put a black antenna base. It was about attractiveness and looks. The base fitted perfectly, and the removed base was more difficult to remove.

This was not an easy install. Channel locking was not the solution, special pliers were needed to loosen the threaded locking washer. The tape doesn't work.

So glad I finally replaced the ugly old one. You can use needle nose pliers and remove the nut holding the base, you don't need any special tools for this!

This product did what I wanted it to do which was to replace my old sun bleached antenna. That's exactly what he did. The only complaint was that it doesn't fit as tight at the bottom as the factory model.

not suitable as a stock item. Leaves a gap below. There will be a replacement. I don't need it to catch salt and rust my wing. If you live in a place that has to do with snow, don't go into it. If not, then I don't see it as such a bad thing.

So the price of this is going up slowly but surely. I replaced the original antenna over a year ago and it still looks good. Very low attenuation. I recently bought 2 more to last for the next few years. My dealer wanted to charge me $73 not including the labor for any of them. Ridiculous.

I am pleased with this antenna base to replace the sun bleached and worn base originally on the truck. It is very easy to unscrew the original base's adjusting nut, pull it up to remove it, and then install the new part in its place. Very easy installation and improved appearance of the truck.
