This is a *good* basic belt. For those who got it wrong, the black plastic caps on the two metal pins are for shipping only, to protect them from scratches. This belt has been worn for 2 weeks with no problems. I didn't want to buy this belt as some feedback said the buckle was loose. The only problem with the belt is that the buckle is completely straight and the waist is curved. I ordered two belts and they are of different thicknesses. Both are very strong, but one strap is much thicker and heavier than the other. This isn't the biggest problem with these two straps. I liked this Red Cap brand belt for years, but this replacement belt isn't exactly the same. It doesn't hold up well (let's go back to the old strap); the new skin is thinner. The quality, while proudly made in the USA, leaves a lot to be desired. When comparing two belts: the new purchase is thinner (black inside) The old belt is thicker (cream colored inside).
