Easy installation. plug and play

The product corresponds to the description. Installed with online YouTube videos. Spent about three hours in total. If I had to do it all over again, it would probably be done in two hours. I had tools to remove the panels, a jack and stands to help with the installation.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • slightly torn

A beginner can take it off

As someone who never does wiring regularly, this was really easy to install. You just have to make sure you have good pliers or strong hands with pliers. Shrink tubing would be nice. The wiring itself, along with the "batteryโ€, was very nicely hidden behind the trim elements of the 2018 Toyota Rav 4. And you don't see that someone pulled a wire through.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • I will add later

Works great on a 2015 Toyota Rav4 XLE 4WD

If this is your first time doing this, take your time, grab a flashlight and drive slowly. I got 2 equals 4, the first one took me 90 minutes. The second one only took me 30 minutes. It's really easy with this kit. There are no cables or plugs to order. It's all inclusive. There's even a self-tapping ground screw. I saved a few bucks since I already ordered cables and other parts. Time to bring them back for a refund. I highly recommend this set.

Pros
  • This is great

NOT HOMEMADE - Spare parts

NOT HOMEMADE if you don't have an ELEVATOR. I've installed lighting kits for my Honda Element before and it wasn't difficult at all. Not so with RAV4. You have to remove a lot of plastic panels and then run a power line from the back of the car to the front. If you don't have a lift this is very difficult if not impossible. Just pay someone to install the light. Taking all the panels off and putting them back on was also a PITA and took a couple of hours. Now I have to take the car to a shopโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Upgradable

Fits my 2018 Rav4

A few tips: Have a bezel removal tool. Remember that running the power cord under a car that doesn't have a lift is a hassle. Do not install the control box before you have the passenger side. the cable is routed and terminated on site as there is not much excess cable. I recommend not using a self-tapping screw for the ground wire. There is a threaded hole on the frame next to the controller which I used instead. A self drilling screw is included, you will need your own metric screw to use the

Installing is not easy though.

If you're looking for an easy way to connect headlights to your trailer, pay someone to install it for you. It wasn't easy to install, but it works great for a good price. I have a 2016 RAV4 and had to open some plastic panels in the trunk to connect it. The really tricky part is connecting the power line from this unit in the trunk to the battery under the hood. If you have a hybrid this kit is perfect (maybe just 20 minutes) as the power is already in the trunk. If not and you can't jack upโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Perfect for 2016 RAV4 Hybrid

If you have a 2016 RAV4 Hybrid you should buy this harness. It has the right connectors and cable lengths for easy installation. I tried two others before finding this one so I know. Follow the YouTube video for installation. If you have a hybrid, your battery is in the back next to the spare tire, so you don't have to worry about running cables up front. The hardest part is getting your hand behind the plastic dividers to connect the wires. Everything just snaps into place, so once you'veโ€ฆ

  • New
Cons
  • Basically OK, but...

Wrong connector cable

I fitted it to a 2020 RAV4, that's the car it was supposed to fit. After installation, I found that the plugs are connected incorrectly. On a standard 4 pin spade connector, pin 1 (white wire) is common, pin 2 (brown wire) is the running and tail lights, pin 3 (yellow wire) is the left turn signal/brake signal, and pin 4 (green wire). wire) is the right turn signal/right brake. In this particular case, the brown wire is the brake lights, the turn signals on both sides, and the green and yellowโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • There are bugs
