Bad product good for hitch Accessory

LED tester worked. The actual functionality of the headlights and indicators did not work. When the truck lights were off, the trailer lights were at half brightness when the truck lights were where the trailer lights were not working at all. The left and right direction indicators made both position lights of the probe flash. All wrong. Everything works fine if you use a different brand adapter.

Pros
  • External accessory
Cons
  • Operating speed

WORKS - Offers two spade connectors as a bonus

This not only converts a 7 pin receiver to a 4 pin flat connector like other adapters, it also offers 2 (a 4 pin and a 5 pin). This eliminates the need for a splitter when you need two outlets. This makes for a cleaner connection without lots of loose wires on the connector. I try my 4 pin plug in both sockets and the lights work in both. This adapter has LEDs for use as a circuit tester, but since my LEDs worked when I plugged them in, they weren't really needed.

  • Automotive
Cons
  • Unsafe

As with other reviews: what you get is not true.

As per other reviews what you get is not what you see in the picture. The LEDs are red (no big deal), and there's only one port cover, so you can't just stick it in a truck and leave it there (at least in Wisconsin, where we use salt on our roads) without fear of corrosion . He'll do the job I need him for. This means that if I rent a trailer, I can plug in the "normal" 4 or 5-wire trailer cable and drive off. Once I buy my own trailer it will have a native 7 pin connector on the trailer cable.

Pros
  • towing and winch items
Cons
  • dull packaging

Overcome the lack of a second cover!

5 stars! I don't understand how anyone can look at the photos and say that both sets of capped needles were deceiving. It has 1 cover. You don't need 2 covers if you use the trailer fork all the time, but you will if you pull the trailer fork out and leave it in the receiver. Then you'll quickly find that it doesn't matter if it has two covers or not because someone in the Walmart parking lot will see it and won't care too much about the second cover. Keep it in your car in the console and…
