Adjustable Replacement Shoulder Straps for Backpacks Review

Used to replace the harnesses on a mu Summit Viper climber, works perfectly! I ended up buying a camo version of these belts but they were still in great condition.

ordered two sets to convert the surplus eastern bloc backpacks (supplied with a thin leather passport strap) and use them as climbing backpacks. Fits perfectly and keeps the strap adjustment and the chest strap is still useful. The foam is on the thin side and too soft I think but time will tell. Transforms vintage WW2 canvas backpacks into modern day rock backpacks.

A very active Boy Scout, he does a lot of hiking and quite often they have to carry a backpack with them during the day. Straps don't snap well even if your bag is a bit heavy. Simply lifting the plastic buckle while wearing will release the strap. Worst of all, the end of the strap isn't thick enough to slip through the clip, so the strap just opens and falls off. In order for these belts to be reliable, the design needs to be changed. I'm a boy scout for life. I give this product 5 stars because it serves its purpose. It's not high quality. The straps have very limited padding on the shoulders and plastic snaps in four places. For these reasons, such tapes do not withstand heavy loads. I will be using these straps to replace the missing shoulder straps on an old Scout backpack.
