Good thing they come in pairs because my son broke one in 24 hours. Still think they should have provided one with the device or at least stated it wasn't included but was needed.

Both ports are bad and the computer only sees the controllers about 1% of the time. Invisible movement leads to failure of the connection. I regret buying such a useless thing.

Easy to modify to use as Original Xbox to USB. Simply use a 3/32 bit and hand drill to drill through the side walls of the cork. Very easy, took about 30 seconds. Just tested it with the Raspberry Pi Retro Gaming System. Works very well!

I really hoped my guitar controller wasn't dead as they are getting harder and harder to find on the used market and quite expensive. It turned out to be just a broken cable and this replacement worked great and now I have a spare cable too.

These dongles are for 360, NOT original Xbox. However, if you shave the inside to match the breakaway Xbox, they work and there are signed Windows drivers for the Xbox controller. This also works with 3rd party controllers, dance pads, instruments etc.

Bought for a game called Guitar Smithy. When I bought a used game it didn't have a detachable cable. At first I thought I would have to buy a whole new cable, then I found out about it. I didn't have to buy a new cable which cost $28 plus tax, it cost about $7 which is less than half the price of a new cable. It works fine, tried my game for 1 hour and no stuttering. Luckily it was gray but I couldn't find a black one that matched my cable.
