If you are installing a new drive, you MUST replace the logic boards with the old drive. Everything works great except the drive makes a strange noise when inserting and ejecting a disc. Not sure if these are refurbishment, old new stock or used rims but it would be nice to know.

This is a refurbished drive and it works fine on my system. My only gripe would be that the drive didn't come with one of the cables I expected, but I just took the cable off my broken drive and got it working. Overall this is a good product and the sellers are easy to deal with.

I received the product when I should have received it, it was neatly packaged and the product showed what I had to do. I did what was said and what was said in other tutorials but the product didn't work for me. I had the same problem I started with and the CD drive didn't seem to be working properly.

Works great. seems faster than the ones I had, but that might be because the ones I had ran out and failed. Just remember that you have some work to do, e.g. such as replacing the circuit boards and other things when you receive them. Be sure to read the instructions, but even if you're unfamiliar with the PS3 but have some general knowledge of computer repair, you'll succeed.

I ordered this drive for my PS3 which stopped reading discs and was making a terrible ejecting noise when trying to read discs. The delivery was very fast, arrived in less than 2 days. What I received was not a new disc. There were obvious scratches on the outside of the disc. Great product but replacing it takes more effort than just adding a disc to your game console. You need to transfer the motherboard from the old Playstation drive to the new drive. Watch a YouTube video or search the internet for instructions before attempting to replace the device yourself.
