Difficult to fold and easy to turn

I was very impressed when I first opened it but didn't know how to screw it back on. When tried, the frame yielded slightly and the sharp wires pierced the floor. Now it's crooked and dangerous. Maybe it was just me, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Concise instructions

Not Very Sturdy: Science Kits and Toys

While I think it's well designed and better than square boxes, based on other reviews I expected it to be sturdier. I found it quite "bouncy" and put a few large rocks on the bottom at the end to make it easier to rip and unzip without disturbing the tracks. Nice size but I wouldn't put more than 4 or 5 tracks in it at a time.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Modern

Great for raising butterflies

I use this habitat for monarch butterflies and it's great. This is a decent size if you don't have a lot of space for very large living spaces. It's big enough to fold the cuttings into caterpillar feeders, and when you open it you can remove the door at the top so it doesn't get in the way. I had trouble closing it again despite the instructions but it's still a good living space.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Nothing

Best Design Best in Science Kits and Toys

I bought one of these cases for my Monarch Tracks. I love this design. You can open and flip it and it stays on top while you clean/rearrange the inside. I have just enough room for my white flower pipe holder so I can separate the age groups by age. I liked it so much that I bought 2 more. The other small 12 x 12 is not that easy to use. The hole is much smaller and harder to get in with your hands. This body is the best. I can buy more!

Fun Summer Project: Science Kits & Toys

I used the Monarch caterpillar cage. Through the mesh, it was easy to watch the activity of the caterpillars and then watch the monarch butterfly emerge from the chrysalis. The cage was easy to enter thanks to the two zippers that allowed a large opening. This made it easy to clean. And after I've released the last monarch and cleaned it in the cage, it's easily stowed away by rolling it into a round shape and using the attached velcro to keep it that way.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Just unfold and you're done!

This mesh habitat is great for my new passion for monarch butterflies! I had caterpillars in a jar and when they were big enough I transplanted them into a mesh habitat. Soon after, they made their way up to go through the Chrysalis Chrysalis phase. It was amazing to be able to easily see and look through the web! I look forward to seeing them turn into beautiful butterflies! Ideal habitat for flower tubes and milkweed holders while they were caterpillars. Next spring I plan to breed moreโ€ฆ

Couldn't reset it.

Last year I had a larger cage, it worked well, but I gave it away. So bought this one. However, I couldn't remember how to fold it back. So I recommend that you pay attention to how it is in the box before you take it out. I may have lost its shape trying to flatten it back out for storage. Otherwise it has served its purpose. This one was shorter than the previous one I had, limiting the size of the pot or vase you put milkweed in. It had two zippers, which is good for its size. It is easy toโ€ฆ
